To work, you need to prepare a sheet of paper for drawing or drawing, a set of black graphite pencils of different hardness and an eraser for shading.

- The surface of the shore is filled in the same way and shaded in the same way. The stones are darkened with a softer dark lead.
- On the horizon near the sun you can outline the silhouettes of clouds.
If you plan to depict high waves, there should be only a few of them. Small waves can unobtrusively cover the entire surface of the sea surface.

Watercolor sketches
A more complex way to create a seascape is to paint in watercolors. For it you will need to prepare special paper with a slightly rough surface, watercolors, soft brushes of different numbers and a palette.
Step-by-step instructions will show you how to easily paint the sea with water-based paints:
- First you need to make a light, almost imperceptible pencil sketch indicating the horizon and some details.
- At the next stage, the sky is depicted. To do this, you need to moisten the part of the sheet above the horizon abundantly with water and, after absorption, apply light yellow, almost white, strokes in the form of clouds with light strokes.
- Their silhouettes can be outlined in blue, then rinse the brush and blur the outlines. The sky is painted blue to indicate cloudy edges.
- The next stage will show how to beautifully draw the sea itself. Using a large round brush, thoroughly mix the blue watercolor with water. Then wide and narrow strokes should be applied to the dry surface of the sheet using sliding movements.
- The uneven surface of the paper will be covered with paints with spaces that will imitate the glare of the sun. On the wet surface of the waves, you can indicate the depth with small blue-green strokes.
- Along the edge of the picture you can see blurry silhouettes of land hills. To do this, you will need paints in yellow shades, to which you can add blue and pinkish. After the sea colors have completely dried, ripples and waves are drawn on the water with a thin brush.
The completion of the work will be the addition of the picture with the outlines of a sailboat, seagulls or boats with people. There is no need to clearly draw these details. This way they will look more natural.
Oil painting
The most complex version of depicting a seascape is an oil painting.
It will not be easy for a novice artist to do such work, but if you use certain recommendations, it is possible to paint the sea in oils step by step.
For such serious work you will need:
- Special canvas,
- Stretch on the frame
- Oil paints,
- Primer,
- Flat brushes of different numbers.
Operating procedure:
- Before applying the image, the surface of the canvas is primed.
- The colors of the main image are applied in thick strokes.
- The technique of creating an oil painting should be studied in detail separately, under the guidance of specialists.
- Beginning painters can schematically designate the horizon, the surface of the sea with small waves and the sky with clouds.
