What material is best to sculpt from?
The plastic mass, if it is of high quality, does not stick to surfaces and does not stain fingers and palms. It is odorless or has a subtle but pleasant aroma (not all plasticine sets).
High-grade plasticine has rich, bright, but not acidic colors. When purchasing a plasticine set, it is important for parents to pay attention to the composition.
This aspect is especially important if the child is allergic. In this case, you should avoid plastic materials with aggressive chemical additives (solvents, allergenic dyes) and latex.
Sets that have proven themselves to be good:
- "Brauberg" (Russia).
- "Jovi" (Italy).
- "Hey Clay" (China).
- "Gamma" (Russia).
- "Luch" (Russia).
- “Treasure Island” (Russia).
In any case, no matter what kind of plasticine the child uses, after work you need to thoroughly wash your hands with soap and hot water and ventilate the room.
If you don’t have plasticine at hand, you can make a plastic mass with your own hands from toilet paper and glue, but this will be a craft using the papier-mâché technique. These dogs will harden after sculpting and can be painted.
Saint Bernard
One of the kindest dog breeds is the St. Bernard. They are also called “nannies” for their ability to get along with small children. This is a large, shaggy, but good-natured animal.
To make a plasticine St. Bernard, you will need the following material:
- plastic mass of white, yellow, brown and black colors;
- toothpick.
Method for creating a dog:
- The Saint Bernard is a large dog, so they take more white material and a rectangular body with rounded corners.
- A thick “sausage” is made from white plasticine and divided into 4 parts in order to make legs. But you need to remember that the “nanny” has powerful paws with large feet.
- Next, attach the paws and tail (not too long).
- A large head is made from a large brown ball and a smaller white one (show the convexity of the muzzle).
- Let's start with the details: you need to show a slightly overhanging forehead, a frowning look from under the eyebrows (two thin strips of brown plasticine are glued on).
- Also, a dividing strip for the upper part of the muzzle is plucked from a thin “sausage”.
- Characteristic lip folds are formed from a black rope, slightly drooping downwards.
- Yellow and brown “pancakes” are used to create the coat color on the broad back of the St. Bernard. Smooth it well with your fingers, and on the back side (side, not sharp) imitate the growth of shaggy hair.
- Also, with the sharp side, they make indentations for the mustache - holes - near the muzzle (it is assumed that the mustache is “invisible”).
It turned out to be a wonderful, big and kind dog!
Plasticine puppy
A very easy craft that even a child can do. For the lesson you need to prepare:
- a yellow or orange block from a plasticine set;
- 1/2 white bar;
- a little black mass.
How to do it step by step:
- The yellow plastic mass is kneaded, warmed in your hands, and a thick oval and a slightly smaller ball (almost the same) are formed from it.
- Connect them together. This will be the puppy's body and head.
- Roll out four small balls from white plasticine. These are paws. And they stick it to the lower part of the body, as if a dog is sitting on four legs.
- Next we move on to the details. Elongated ears are made from one white and one yellow cake in drop form and attached to the sides.
- Another ball is also rolled out from the white mass and attached to the part of the head where the “face” is located. The result is a slightly convex muzzle.
- The final touch is a big black puppy nose.
Buddy is ready for games!
Rottweiler
Such a serious dog as a Rottweiler needs to be done thoroughly.
To work you need to take:
- light brown (more sandy), chocolate plasticine, and a little white for teeth and eyes, and black for details;
- glass or toothpick.
How to do it:
- First, the body is formed from a large rectangle.
- Powerful paws are attached to it, which will consist of two colors: the lower part is light brown, the upper part is chocolate.
- Next, a large head formed from a chocolate-colored ball is strung on top of the body (the dog is standing).
- The elongated muzzle is made from a light brown mass. In the stern muzzle, a depression is made for the mouth and a white plate is inserted there, imitating teeth.
- Also, small black dots are used to create an imitation of spots in the mustache area.
- Flagella are twisted from a chocolate plate and frowned eyebrows are stuck on.
- Don't forget about the tiny tail, small floppy ears and black nose.
A menacing dog can add to the collection of dogs of different breeds made from plasticine.
